What Defines Asshattery?
Abusing Guild Chat
* Guild chat is pretty much free for anything, and if
you don't have tough skin you won't survive in it.
However, this doesn't mean it's always dangerous
territory. If someone's being a prick they'll be
quiet-timed, but that's about the extent of it. The
spectrum of conversation can be both erratic and
erotic, so expect anything.
Abusing Ventrilo
* There are moderators in Ventrillo, and they won't
hesitate to kick or ban strange characters that
start any bit of trouble or annoyance. If you want
to bring guests into our Ventrillo, ask others in
advance. Certain Ventrillo channels may be
designated with a specific purpose, such as a raid
or PvP channel. In those cases, do not speak in
that channel unless you are a participant in that
activity. Retribution will be swift if you're
being an asshat.
Abusing the Boards
*We do not heavily moderate the forums, but we want
people to respect the forums and use common sense
when posting. If you are deemed to be abusing your
posting privileges, an admin may deactivate your
account. This behavior also includes spamming the
boards. Actions such as posting on every single
thread or on very old threads will get you in
trouble with administrators. If you think a
moderator is abusing their privileges, let Akumas
know right away through a PM.
Abusing the Obsidian Spur Name
*Everyone is expected to uphold the guild name.
This entails being respectful to other people in
instance runs and general grouping. Don't be an
asshat to others. While you may not think it's a
big deal, word gets around and your reputation
will be jack as an individual player. Guilds as a
whole can have "bad" reputations as well, even
raiding ones due to their slow learning curve
players (dumbasses).
Abuse of the English Language
*Shorthand is for heathens. If English is not your
first language, then we can't be too hard on you,
but if you're just too lazy to take the time to
write coherently, you're probably going to get
nailed by a grammar nazi. Use decent grammar and
avoid the use of 16-year-old shorthand.
